Hilton Garden Inn Hilton Head

My second stay here. It is close to many restaurants and shops. Typical hotel experience - a few ok things, a few sub par things. The shower is very low flow. They still have tubs and I prefer a standup shower. Bed isn't the softest but I slept well. The front entrance is not accessible if you have lots of luggage as you need to walk up a flight of steps to get to the lobby. There is a garage around back with an elevator.

This HGI is in the final stages of a major decor change/renovation. They are still working on the 1st floor and the restaurant and bar area is almost done. My major issue was finding the hotel in the dark as there is NO signage or lighting when coming in from the West (driving east on HWY 278). Coming from the West and driving East, then turning onto Moss Creek, it took me 15 minutes and 2 UTurns to get back onto 278 Westbound, only to see the hotel back in the woods. ( The signage going West on 278 across the bridge from Hilton Head is lit and noticeable.) When turning left into Moss Creek from 278 East (coming from the West/Bluffton), it is extremely dark and unlit. My GPS kept telling me to turn right onto Moss Creek Rd (just before the entrance to a gated community) but the road was so dark and convoluted, it appeared to be a dead end.... again, absolutely NO signage pointing the way to the hotel. We got to the Circle K, bought some water and realized the narrow road went behind the Circle K to the HGI. Once I was able to navigate the area in the daylight, it is a good location although you hear the highway noise if you are on the front side of the hotel . HGI needs to install signage at Moss Creek Rd, the turn in right before the gated community and near the Circle K.

Hotel was kind of set back and hidden from site, thus the only 4 stars for location. Could have easily missed it save GPS. That aside! The front clerk greeted me warmly and had me processed within 1 minute. Never have I ever been helped out so quickly and given proper directions like this before. The room was very clean, the water was warm and the AC surprisingly cold! Never had the chance to get a room this cool. If I ever return. This will be where I stay!

Chef / server Mike is a special talent. He cares about food and has great skill. He takes good care of guests and is a humble leader. Keep him before he goes somewhere to start a renowned restaurant or other venture! Everyone at the front desk and housekeeping was great too, but Mike was a real blessing.

Large rooms. A little difficult to find at first. We had a problem with noisy ac and ended up switching rooms. Nice breakfast. Could use a little freshen up.

Front desk was awesome, very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was magnificent. The grits, scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, bagle and juice was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Book Hilton Garden Inn after needing to extend our trip. I spoke with Teresa and she was very pleasant. I asked her where to get seafood and she was quick to recommend someplace. When I checked in, where treated us and was just a pleasant in person as she was on the phone. The property was clean. Our room was in real good condition with everything in working order. The only issue was there were no black out drapes which allowed a light to shine in the room. Every other employee was friendly as well. It’s pet friendly. The breakfast exceeded expectations. I would stay here again.

After driving 10 hours my family and I arrived at the hotel and were immediately greeted by the most cordial and competent front desk staff, Sierra. Sierra was most helpful in directing me to the best restaurants and shopping centers to prepare me for my nest days meeting. I enjoyed meeting Sheila who was very passionate about her meals and customer satisfaction. The bartender Deidra (sp) knew exactly what wine would be best to help me wind down from my long trip and not feel to overwhelmed by the next day. I must say that there should be a sense of pride in the staff chosen, because even the housekeeper remembered the possible need for fresh towels in my room due to my twins traveling with me and offered to refresh and refill room necessities. My only disappointment was not knowing prior to booking through another party that the hotel breakfast was not comped. I was very pleased with my stay and plan to return for a personal vacation again soon. Keep up the greatness.
